A58 360 Excavator (Below 10 Tonnes)
Overview
This ten day course provides instruction in the correct operation of 360 Excavator (Under 10 Tonnes) for operators who will be using such machines on site. It provides training as referred to in the laws relating to work equipment and health and safety, and is accredited by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS).
Who Should Attend
The course can be tailored for all levels of experience, from novice through to expert. However all participants must have passed the relevant CITB Health, safety and environment test within 2 years of the exam date.
Course Objectives
This course teaches the participants the knowledge and skills needed to productively, safely and competently, operate a 360 Excavator that weighs under 10 tonnes and includes:
Operating the plant machinery to a minimum standard
Fitting and operating ancillary equipment
Siting the machine safely and efficiently
Carrying out minor adjustments and routine servicing procedures
Preparing the machine for travelling on the public highway
The capabilities of each machine, its purpose and limitations
All safety precautions necessary for the correct operation of the plant machinery
How diesel engines work and how various parts of the machine operate
How to interpret the information provided by level pegs, profiles and so on
What routine adjustments and servicing procedures are necessary, and how to carry them out.
Assessment
1 day assessment - CPCS theory and practical tests.
On Completion
Successful delegates of any of this CPCS 360 Excavator course will gain the CPCS red card (trained operator), which is valid for 2 years.
Candidates who hold this will then need to achieve the NVQ in Plant Operations within these 2 years, in order to upgrade to a Competent Operator 'Blue' card..
